Putting Service Back into Mental Health Billing Services
Brain Billers was founded upon truth, trust, and transparency. As owners of a small psychiatry practice, we outsourced our billing to a large medical billing service only to discover that there was no “service.” Instead, the firm catered to easy-to-bill large surgeons and large practices which typically have very straightforward coding and greater margins.
Our calls weren’t returned, we were unable to speak to an account manager, our services were incorrectly coded, and claims weren’t filed in a timely manner. In short, the medical billing company was ruining our business!
Small mental health practices are often treated differently by large billing companies, or altogether ignored. Dr. Nickolas Culpepper spearheaded the effort to form a separate company specializing in maximizing billing reimbursement for psychiatric practices. We believe in the golden rule: Treat others how you’d like to be treated.
